Olay your products are just plain ugly

Ah Procter & Gamble

The animal protection organizations like to focus in on this conglomerate because they are so huge and if only they would stop testing their products on animals, many smaller companies would follow suit.

They have been involved in horrible animal testing in the past and they are still at it. It is very difficult to find out about the tests, but sometimes a very devoted sleuth can uncover the truth. Thank you Olay for a product that pregnant animals and their babies have died for. Now that is ugly. By the way, the toxic chemicals are forced into the animals stomach via gavage (tube forced down the throat into the esophagus without any pain relief). Often the tube is pushed into the wind pipe by mistake which is very painful and deadly. Check out the latest from the wonderful world of P& G Research & Development:

Beauty brand tainted by US animal testing

Three popular products, produced under the leading brand Olay, contain a cosmetic preservative, butylparaben, that was tested on animals.

The ingredient is contained in Olay Regenerist Night moisturiser and Olay Regenerist Eye Derma-Pod, both of which are sold in high-street stores. It is also used in Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream, due on sale in Britain in June.

Scientific papers show that Procter and Gamble (P&G), which owns Olay, tested butylparaben in the US in 2004, force-feeding it to pregnant rats. The rats’ unborn offspring were removed by caesarean section and tested for toxic effects. P&G said the tests had been done on behalf of the industry at the request of European Union regulators.
